Annual Fishing Tournament

1. Rule Changes.

Interpretation of these rules will be left exclusively to the tournament officials. Decisions on the tournament judge are final in all matters and are not subject to appeal. Each competitor agrees to report any rule violation to the tournament director immediately upon discovery of the violation. The violation of a tournament rule may result in weight loss, disqualification, or in an extreme circumstance, ineligibility to participate in future Black's Chapel Fishing Tournaments.

2. Participation.

All personnel 16 years and older participating in the tournament must have a valid license.

3. Off-limits.

The Off limits locations are posted with signs from the Department of Wildlife.

4. Registration.

Registration begins at 6:00 a.m. the morning of the tournament (3 September 2011). The tournament begins at 7:00 a.m.

5. Pairing.

There is no pairing or partners for this tournament. There will be no grouping fish together to increase the numbers of fish for any participant.

6. Safety.

Safe boating must be observed at all times. All Federal and State requirements apply while operating a boat, including the engine restrictions at Rhodes Pond. In addition, personnel fishing from the bank must be cognizant of not only wildlife (i.e. snakes, insects, etc) but also plant life (i.e. poison ivy, poison oak, poison sumac, etc).

7. Sportsmanship.

This is a family oriented event. All contestants are required to follow high standards of sportsmanship. Any mind altering substances (including alcohol) may result in disqualification and being banned from this and future tournaments. At all times remember this is a church sponsored event for the community, please act accordingly.

All fish must have been caught at Rhodes Pond during the official time of the tournament. Weighting fish is not permitted under any circumstances and will result in immediate disqualification from the tournament.

8. Permitted fishing methods.

Participants may use only a fishing rod. No casting nets are allowed.

9. Insurance.

Contestants will have sufficient health, accident and liability insurance to cover any bodily injury or property damage incurred. If not they agree that they are capable of paying for any and all such expenses or liabilities.

10. Prizes.

The tournament will finish at 6:00 pm. Anyone who has not made it to the administration table to weigh their fish will have no score. Twelve and a half (12.5) percent of registration monies will be paid to the winner in each of the following categories:

Adult Heaviest fish - the heaviest fish will be determined by the weight of the fish when presenting it to the administration table.

Adult Heaviest 5 fish - the participant will choose their heaviest 5 fish to determine a total weight score.

Child (younger than 16) Heaviest fish - the heaviest fish will be determined by the weight of the fish when presenting it to the administration table.

Child (younger than 16) Heaviest 5 fish - the participant will choose their heaviest 5 fish to determine a total weight score.

Note: All fish must be legal according to size and weight in accordance with NC Fishing laws.
